After a few days of strenuously tedious fiddling with MovableType my mind is almost blank. So I'll post a newly discovered drawing of two guys kissing.
I've never heard of Oliver Frey. At first I thought the drawing was by Zack one of the few really good draughtsmen whose work appears in the gay porn series Meatmen . This doesn't show Frey's greatest strength, shading, to its best but I'm partial to the theme.

Oliver Frey is Zack. Same person. You can find lots of his work in the 6 Yahoo Groups dedicated to him at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Freyartwork1 and 2, etc. I think he’s one of the best artists I’ve ever seen. His black & white work is stunning.

Thought that might be the case. I saw a few black and whites that were remarkably good. Some of the shading reminded me a bit of some of Joe Kubert’s 1950s work.
It is hard for me to guess who many European artists’ influence are (except for say Jordi Bernet who mixed Toth and Kubert obviously). The classical training makes it look so different than what you see here though you know that many of them looked at Caniff and Sickles.
I wish Daniel Torres had done a gay drawing or two (in a way he did since he did the dust jacket for a couple of American gay novels but no obvious gay contents).
