New Year's Day 2004
Archive: Richard Evans Lee

Tomorrow will be our busiest day of 2004. We've had our New Year's Day sale for most of the twenty years we've been open. Back in the 80s corporate retailers hadn't realized they could force their minimum wage employees to work on the holidays. We were one of the few places open on January 1st in Durham, NC.
While we won't face an overwhelming mob tomorrow plenty of our regular customers plan for it and I know there'll be at least one guy from out of state, many from out of town.
I'm not a talented capitalist and I never got to page four.

Comments:
Feel free to share your feelings about New Year's Day 2004. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted.
This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
