Concerned citizens want to ban occult books

Archive: Religious Intolerance

If you matched all the books on Satanism against that done by religious meddlers who do you think has done the greatest harm?

A group called National Concerned Citizens for Youth is campaigning in Gloucester County’s Washington Township for restricted access, citing two books in particular, The Devil’s Storybook and The Devil: Great Mysteries, Opposing Viewpoints. …

But the Mellas and the parents’ group, which includes about 20 other parents, plan to take their campaign next to chain bookstores, which they say should treat occult books the same as pornography.

I am a catholic and have strong faith yet i do believe that God gave people free will. The chocie to do good or evil. Some people have an interest in the Occult and that is their thing. but you should not close down a book shop just because of some one elses beleif or what books they read. The first amendment is freedom of speech and religon regardless of what it is. If parents don't want there kids to read these books they should supervise them at a book store!

Comments:

Feel free to share your feelings about Concerned citizens want to ban occult books. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted.

This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.

My thanks,
Richard
