Canadian seminary would rather not have queers
Archive: Homophobia
Starting this fall, the Grand Seminary of Montreal will require applicants to take an HIV test before being declared eligible for admission.
The decision to require the test was made by the archbishop of Montreal, Cardinal Jean-Claude Turcotte.
The Grand Seminary's rector, Rev. Marcel Demers, told the Montreal Gazette that if the virus is detected — and it was contracted through a gay relationship — the seminary “will try to see what the person's calling really is.”
Though Demers said homosexuals aren't automatically refused admittance, he acknowledged their chances of being accepted are slim.

Comments:
Feel free to share your feelings about Canadian seminary would rather not have queers. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted.
This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
