Bible reader tries to circumcise son

Edward Baxter had been reading his Bible. A conscientious student he came across the Bible's injunction that men should be circumcised. I guess he is a do it yourself kind of guy since he decided he'd save the cost of a doctor - another sign of this thrift is that he used a common kitchen knife - and cut off his son's foreskin himself.
Baxter told police that he numbed the boy's penis with ice before attempting the circumcision at home. The eight-year-old has only minor injuries.
