Greedy televangeslists bilked

Benny Hinn thought highly of Gregory Sester. Maybe he felt an unconscious kinship. $160 million to another pious fraud. You'd think the Lord would take better care of his televangelists.

"I asked Brother Oral Roberts and his son Richard to join Sarah and me in believing God to place a 'MIRACLE OVERFLOW' anointing into some special anointing oil," Marilyn Hickey explains on her website. "NOW, the first thing we want to get into your hands is a personal quantity of this very special anointing oil."

Like Roberts, Hickey pursues a relentless campaign for dollars. Two years ago, this quest led her to a man named Gregory Earl Setser, 47, a businessman in Texas who turned out to be quite a fundraiser himself. He claimed he was a former minister and promised miraculous investment returns without risking principal. ...

Last week, Setser was in federal custody, charged with fraud. He was unavailable for comment.

Sir...many good men, men who have dedicated there lives to doing good and giving to others have lost all they have in this scheme. My father is one of them. My father is a Christian minister but I assure you he would never preach at you and never shove what he believes down your throat. He would never call you a sinner or mock your point of view. If you were needy he would give to you, but now he has nothing to give because he innocently believed that Greg Setzer was for real. I am saddened that you think the downfall of all around good men and women is humorous. Most that I know who have suffered as a result of the IPIC scheme would give even a "happily gay athiest" the shirt off there back. Now they have no means to help anyone. Hatefulness will only torment you in the end. We all, christians, atheists, gays and straights, just want the same thing....happiness.
