A scientist and businessman is suing Next magazine for defamation over an article about his attempts to sell one-square-inch plots of land in Iowa which he claimed UFOs had flown over. ...
He told the court he decided to sell his 26,000-sq-ft plot of land in Iowa, which he brought for US$100 and was now valued at US$3,900, when he learned from a documentary that aliens had flown over it.
"After I watched that documentary, I felt that the opportunity [for selling the land] had come. Apart from Roswell, which was mentioned in the documentary where ETs were visiting, I also found that ETs had visited Iowa where my piece of land was."
Dr Ki told the defendants' lawyer, Jat Sew-tong SC, he planned to sell all 3,744,000 square inches of land for HK$100 per square inch in an attempt to raise a total of $374 million.
