Sci Fi Channel's PR Ploy

UFOs & Bogus Science

Nothing more than a bid to get some free advertising. Hard to remember that science fiction was once associated with clarity and skepticism. Back when the Sci Fi Channel started their major advertiser was the Psychic Friends Network. Perhaps gullible people are a loyal core of viewers for the channel. The truth isn't out there: it is in a moron's mirror.

IN an unusual step for a television network, the Sci Fi Channel is campaigning to persuade the US government to be more forthcoming and aggressive in investigating UFO sightings.

Sci Fi has hired a Washington lobbyist, received support from John Podesta, a former chief of staff for Bill Clinton, and sponsored a symposium on interstellar travel and is considering a court effort to declassify documents related to a 1965 incident in Pennsylvania.
