Dr. Franklin Ruehl says there's a super-scientific civilization is hiding from us underground and they are sabotaging the Beagle 2 Mars probe.

Ruehl says there are many structures on Mars that show signs of an advanced culture, including the famous "Face on Mars" and a giant cemetery near the polar caps which features perfectly arranged tombstones standing 200 feet high.

I don't know what Dr Franklin Ruehl bases his ideas on, but they have uncanny possibilities of being close to the truth. 35 years of collecting information has this author wondering what ever did happen to the Martians when Mars was destroyed. Returning to Mars to live underground has added just one more possibility. It does solve the gravity problems they have elsewhere. Soil and Rock are good shields and insulation. Everything else for an oxygen based lifeform can be got on Mars - believe it or not! Planet of the spelunkerers.
