India's Aghori Sadhus
• Superstitious Folly
It is one of the most secretive tantrik sects of India and very little is known about them. And Zee News is planning a series of programmes on Aghori Sadhus, who reportedly resort to macabre rituals in their quest for ‘siddhi’.
The sect, which apparently has a membership of not more than 30 countrywide, reportedly eat human flesh taken out of bodies burning on pyres and resort to various other indescribable rituals. Some of these rituals have been caught on camera for the Zee News programme ‘Ek Shamshan, Teen Ratein’ to be telecast tomorrow and next Friday. ...
The programme shows the strange ways these sadhus follow to attain ‘siddhi’: they live in cremation grounds, eat flesh out of dead bodies and indulge in rituals involving liquor, tantra and sex.
