Benny Hinn: should there be a law?

Superstitious Folly

Wealthy faith-healer Benny Hinn is on his way to Australia. Not everyone is welcoming the miracle man with open arms.

St Paul's Theological College academic dean Reverend Dr David Pascoe said a secular authority was needed to test claims of "miracle healings" to protect people's rights.

"Some (evangelists) appear to be their own authority and if one of the Government's charges is to protect people's rights, then a secular authority could do that – we do it for consumer goods," Dr Pascoe said.

Likewise the Roman Catholics:

Brisbane Catholic Archbishop John Bathersby said he was "disappointed" by people attracted by signs and wonders holding unreal expectations.

"The Church would come down on us like a tonne of bricks if we made outlandish statements proven false because Rome carefully investigates acts of wonder or awe," Archbishop Bathersby said.

Shades of Jim Bakker:

Currently Hinn is requesting donations to enable him to take the Gospel to the ends of the Earth. Three years ago he was asking for $30 million to build a "World Healing Centre" and although the funds were raised the plans were abandoned.

Churches want faith-healer's claims tested

All that garbage. Repeat it often. Three little words. I love you. It doesn't matter. It is inevitable.
I need prayer request for Benny Hinn so he can remember me on his prayer where ever he travel i had diabatic had kidney problem at this moment i had 5 packet of tablet so please remember me in prayer i already accept lord as the personal saviour to me i belive that we are serving true and living god amen
this is really a shame that is has come to this.every evangalist i see these days fleece the sheep for prophet.they tell you to give an have faith that GOD will come threw.an yet they do not have the faith that the LORD will provide for their own minisrties.an yet they have no shame in asking the poor tho give their last dollar.iam not saying one shouldnt give were called to charity, but these people teach all to the church.years ago the church was still honest with our money,an gave to the poor, widows, fatherless.now no longer the case.they have churches to build, cars to buy,an planes that the LORD told them to have.the HOLY SPIRIT said it well threw peter"in the last days they will make merchandise of you".
Gee, he raised the 30 million but the plans were abandoned.... I wonder why? Maybe it's so he can take those lavish vacations he's so fond of, when he's finished NOT healing anyone. Benny Hinn is a fraud and a greedy liar. "Faith-healing" is not real and the sooner everyone gets this through their heads, the quicker people like Hinn will be out of work. He should be in jail.
There is a law for tricking people out of thier money, but they (FCC) don't inforce it. I kid you not, there are a lot of Benny Hinns out there fighting for the rights to your' wallet.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Benny Hinn: should there be a law?. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
