Awaiting Christ in red shoes

Superstitious Folly

Since the sect was established in Mandela Park six years ago, the residents have been suspicious of the mysterious people who prayed six times a day and wore only red shoes. But the sect members kept to themselves and the residents mostly ignored them.

According to Ndzambule, the sect was founded by Nokulunga Fipaza - a self-appointed prophet, who warned that the end of the world was around the corner. The only way to escape the looming devastation was to join her. That meant renouncing the "worldly life". Members were not allowed to work and children were not permitted to go to school.
