The Skeptic's Predictions for 2003
• Skeptics & Atheists
Every year the psyshics predict astounding surprises, usually with a very low level of accuracy. The Buffalo-based Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal tracks the success rate of such predictions every year (for the 2002 results, see http://www.csicop.org/articles/psychic-predictions/2002.html).
We here at The Skeptic (UK) feel we should make some predictions of
our own -- and we bet we'll be more accurate than the average psychic.
Here they are.
1) The Royal Family will be the subject of a public investigation.
2) There will be an ecological catastrophe in Africa.
3) In the US, there will be a scandal involving the Bush family.
4) The long bear stock market will finally end.
5) There will be many reports of unusually abnormal weather which
will be attributed to global warming.
6) An ancient British institution will collapse.
7) The US will claim victory in Iraq.
8) Hillary Rodham Clinton will make an important announcement
regarding the US 2004 Presidential race.
9) The Pope will be forced to relinquish his post.
10) The psychics' predictions for 2003 will fail to demonstrate a
higher success rate than in the past.
