Probably no one laughed with more serene gusto at charlatans, quacks, fanatics and frauds than H.L. Mencken. I haven't read Terry Teachout's new Mencken biography, The Skeptic: A Life of H.L. Mencken, just a few reviews. While very different these are the two best I've seen.
