Q. Is this a lark for you, merely an intellectual exercise?

A. I would say it is both. It's an intellectual exercise and a principle exercise. I believe strongly that upholding the Establishment Clause (the constitutional clause that bans government from establishing religion) will save people's lives. Just look around the world, there is nothing special about Americans. What is special is our Constitution. You know, they threw rocks at little kids in Ireland three years ago because they were Catholics or Protestants. Look at India or Pakistan and the Middle East and Indonesia and Kosovo and Rwanda. People get killed because of their (religious) beliefs all the time.

Michael Newdow is doing this for himself not his daughter,both his ex wife and daughter are on the side of the court.Generally when a lawsuit like this one is held up by Supreme Court it is because a student has been harmed in some way,this has not happened here,the only harm this lunitic Newdow has done is harm his daughter not the other way around like he says.This guy is a pure sicko and is to be pitied for being just plain ignorant of his surroundings.How could some one with his IQ know so little,it is amazing to see.

Help, someone stole the R.. America, Land of the FREE is turning into the Land of FEE with less and Less of FREEDOM. It's funny, we dance around and praise how FREE America is and how proud we are to be American, but Lately all I see is prices being raised, our health insurance cut, our seniors and others choosing between medicine or Food, our dollars sent to other countries faster than they can raise our cost of living and all kinds of people like Michael Newdow rise up and wants to remove God from our schools, and the Presidents inaugural prayer.. AND WE ALLOW IT.. We give him the freedom of speech and the freedom to be an atheist, but he doesn't care enough to grant us the Freedom to Pray and worship our God, takes it away from our Children in our schools..Where is our rights and Freedom as Christians, Parents and Good God Fearing People.. I'm afraid for this country if they keep letting Michael Newdow's of this world rule.. May God help us and Continue to Bless us in spite of all the Michael Newdow's.. Becky Johnson Chicago
