ID: intelligent or inferior design?

The tortured harmony of the solar system and life on earth as they evolved and continue is impressive when viewed as happenstance. But if you assume there is an intelligent designer hiding like the Wizard of Oz behind a curtain then you can't help but suspect his IQ is rather low. That given a hefty charge of omnipotence you couldn't have a more elegant, less hurtful scheme for living things.

Of course, the poor design thing is assuming that pain is a flaw. Many designers, given the creation o' earth contract could come up with a "pleasure for everybody" theme. I mean, hey, that's cool. But would it be best? I'm not so sure.

It isn't hard at all to think up objections. Christians in particular can just say "the wisdom of God is as foolishness to man" and "faith is the evidence of things unseen and the hope of things yet to come" and dismiss anything. I posted it mostly for the entertainment of like-minded folks.

Feel free to share your feelings about ID: intelligent or inferior design?. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
