Atheists & skeptics shouldn't be silent

Skeptics & Atheists

Of course, if we simply want to believe in orbiting teapots, or fairies at the bottom of the garden, or Quidditch, or the Easter bunny, for our own amusement, that's reasonably harmless (except for the state of our intellects). But religion is a public matter, to put it mildly. Religion doesn't just sit back and let the world go its own way and believe whatever it 'just does', religion intervenes. Religion makes truth claims about the world, and on the basis of those truth claims, it tells us all how to think and behave. That alone is reason enough to consider the assertions of religion every bit as open to contradiction and challenge and discussion as any other set of truth claims.

Are arguments between religion and science a waste of time?

Yo Rich: Didn't I post on this slag once before? Why can't I see my word, yo? I'll recap: the spiritual is open for challenge, but y'all nukka skeptics gotta rekognize the rill. Mysticism is internal! You can't print out an invoice on revelation! All's you can do is read the directions, follow them, then report your own results. When that sh*t starts happening en masse, then we can get some science 'cuz we can make an invoice on the reports. But it's some useless trash to say: I believe this, I believe that... Nukka scientists used to believe the atom was like some positive/negative pudding pie 'til they shot sh*t @ gold foil. Nukka spiritualists do the same, believing whut they're told til they see different. Both nukka-types better get it straight quick. This world is a hall of mutha-fruckin mirrors & the illusion will swallow the ones who don't learn to see for themselves. You think this life's weird? Wait for the next, nukka.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Atheists & skeptics shouldn't be silent. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
