Do atheists fight trivial battles?

Richard Evans Lee

From a new Gallup Poll:

77 percent said the Constitution defended the right to post the Ten Commandments in a government building

In poll, 77% say government can post Ten Commandments

A Connecticut school board recently banned the wearing hats but excluded garments like turbans and yarmulkes that might be required by a child's formal religious affiliation. The American Atheists Inc. of Connecticut says this is unfair. I'd say it is pretty trivial. And if the school board had banned, say, turbans many of the same people would be protesting that as unfair.

School hat rule discriminatory, atheists say

Given the results of the poll and the 2004 elections organized atheism might have more important things to pursue.
