Blathering majority, silent minority

I know you won’t see this but it’ll give me a fragment of satisfaction to write to you like this.

Priggish new age psychic fans, giddy born again, smug satanists, get the hell off my weblog.

Funnily I searched diligently for a weblogging system that allows for comments (this was over a year ago) and chose MovableType in hopes of hearing from amusing, intelligent or at least folks of minimally unmuddled perceptions.

Annoyingly I hear most often those of you who want to defend their pastor, assert the superiority of what you imagine to be ‘metaphysics.’ You’ve seen ufos, talked to angels, worship at the only true church, give money to all manner of bilking masterminds.

I wish you’d just “Shut Up!” but know there’s no escape from the empty brained.

I’ll content myself with the readership of the (all too) silent minority.

Whoa, which recent commentaries are you referring to? You seem to be a cheery guy, or do you use "gay" in another sense ;), so I was a bit shocked by this post. I'll be sure to let the attack dogs handle this matter aggressively.

Richard, you have my heart-felt empathy. Just keep shining that light of rationality-for every one who complains that it irritates their eyes, there are more who will silently turn their minds into functioning organs.It is an invaluable service you do here, and if I don't speak up often enough, I'm sorry. I'm busy swatting wiccans and pagans who are trying to propogate their harmful memes aound my country. From all at Secular Paganism-thank you.

Danny: Recently I’ve taken to deleting some of the stupider comments here and in Amorous Propensities. I hate to do but an endless stream of “How can you assault this fine man of God?” and “Repent!” is tedious. The one person I’ve banned from the weblog was a new age crank who’d post ten or more silly, illiterate comments at a time. I asked him to moderate himself but he refused so I blocked his IP addresses. The comment form is used in all six weblogs. I included my sexuality because of the “suck my dick fag” comments that sometime show up in Pansexual Sodomite and Amorous Propensities. Likewise an essay/memoir on racism in my personal journal keeps attracting scum who leave nasty racist jokes. This entry was just a way of blowing off a little steam. I might’ve sounded seriously upset. I usually have a good time being a little cranky but normally confine it to my personal weblog.
