Placating diehard opponents of female consecration

Religious Intolerance

The Anglican Communion continues to rattle to bits. I'd assumed that the Church of England already had female clergy.

An enclave for opponents of women priests could be created to avert a mass exodus when women are consecrated, possibly within five years.

The faction, effectively a church within a church, could have its own archbishop, bishops, parish clergy and training colleges. But it would exclude women clerics.

Church's 'third way' on women bishops

Comments

The CofE does already have thousands of women clergy, i.e. priests and deacons. The issue is whether or not it should also have women bishops. The CofE at present has only men bishops (about 113 of them).

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Placating diehard opponents of female consecration. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
