Islam illegal, Koran blasphemous

Islam was an illegal religion because the Koran preached violence against Christians and Jews, a Christian group told a judge yesterday.

The group's barrister, David Perkins, said that Christianity was established under Australia's constitution and had special protection, especially through the blasphemy law. ...

"The Koran contradicts Christian doctrine in a number of places and, under the blasphemy law, is therefore illegal," he said.

Both Islamic and Christian scriptures have internal contradictions. Also, Islamic and Christian beliefs can be at odds with scientific understandings. ( e.g., both scriptures represent the earth as flat, in spite of scientific advances in Islamic, then Christian, civilizations ). I have lived in Coburg, Australia since 1950, and more and more interesting moslems share the shopping aisles with me! Last week a spectre covered top-to-toe in black, peered at me through - Ned-Kelley-like eye slot. I got quite a fright! An integrated multicultural society, such as here, should welcome mutual appreciation, and thought-provoking criticism. A free-thinking humanist-skeptic like myself feels under threat by blasphemy laws and so-called vilification laws. Notions of "God" should not be above examination; cultural practices, e.g., "artificially induced randy celibate vocation", genital mutilation, segregation etc., should not be excluded from mutual concern. cf.: www.mapdot.info/soapbox8.htm

Actually, the Koran says that the earth is oval shaped...The shape of an egg, not flat. And it has more scientific miricles than any other previous religion. Do not make comments without actually researching.

Thank you for taking time to answer my views of Islam. But I wish to take up the issue with your contention that Islam is peaceful. To begin with, Violence as advocated by people ‘hiding’ behind Islam has no religious equivalent. This is to say, no other people claiming to represent a faith would find basis in their holy texts to justify their actions. Christians included. This not the case with Islam, where the faith openly calls the faithful to arms. I know Muslims themselves disagree on what jihad is supposed to mean. However Islamic scholars like Muhammad 'Abd al-Salam Faraj who wrote a pamphlet called The Neglected Duty, which is an expression that that jihad includes the overthrow of governments that fail to enforce the Shari'a, and then added that this jihad must occur first, before any jihad against external enemies can take place. Faraj argued not simply that armed, violent jihad is a cornerstone of Islam, but also that it is something which has been woefully neglected by Muslims in recent decades. To rectify this situation, force is required. Most current leaders of Muslim nations are defined as apostates - and since Islam traditionally prohibits warfare among Muslims, the assertion that these leaders are not "really" Muslims allows for violent action against them. The Rise of Ayatollahs and Mullahs in Afhaghanistan can be attributed to this line of thought. These ideas of a violent jihad are not the ravings of a few fringe lunatics. On the contrary, they are ideas which have influenced Islamic fundamentalism and Islamic political movements throughout the Middle East. I do not think I would be stretching it to assert here that Sudanese Northerners helped by their Islamic government as achieved as I have described above, do see themselves as Islamic fighters trying to bring ‘peace’ to the south through Terror. The majority of the Non-Islamic world has deluded itself into believing that the principles of Islam are tolerant in nature. This misconception is heightened when people think that the fault lies with only a handful of misguided Muslims who are not adhering to Islamic principles and hence indulge in terrorism. I have studied Islam and concluded that Islam by its very nature and through its essential principles openly supports, encourages and propagates Terrorism/Jihad of the worst kind. Therefore the Islamic terrorist is in fact the most devout Muslim, because he is following exactly what Islam teaches through the Divine Koran. It is this very Koran which is considered by Muslims to be the holy word of their Allah himself. The Koran functions as the central terrorist manual that urges them to slaughter, rape, torture, pillage, mutilate and molest all Non-Muslims. Koran 17:16-17 When we decide to destroy a population, we send a definite order to them who have the good things in life and yet transgress; so that Allah's word is proved true against them: then we destroy them utterly. How many generations have we destroyed after Noah? And enough is thy Lord to note and see the Sins of his servants Koran 5:33 The Punishment for those who oppose Allah and his messenger is : Execution or Crucifixion or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides or exile from the land Abdallah Yusuf said of the Koran; “The Koran is a psychological manual that incites hatred and violence in the reader. It was specifically designed for this very purpose. The entire recorded history of Muslims is a testament to this fact.

Hmmm......As a soldier of the US....I am gonna call myself different not because I am liberal or conservative, but independent, to these statements I have to reply. I saw duty with the US Army in many theatres. I traveled to Somalia with the 3rd Ranger Bat. I traveled to Sinai, Macadonia, Bosnia, and a few lesser known Muslim regions with one general consensus. Muslims, as a WHOLE, are extremely violent when it comes to their religion. I found them to be generous when hosting, but to live by them would be pure hell. Allah preaches "NO TOLERANCE" to other religions. I believe it is to the better part of humantity, believe it or not, that people in their predicaments tolerate infidels (Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, and other varied religions). I received many different types of "greetings" in my tour. Always with Hindus, Buddhists and Christians was a way of tolerance, honestly Hindus first in line, Buddhists second, Christians unfortunately third (I am by birth a Christian.) The Muslim religion sends out a warm welcome at first, but sours quickly. Nothing can be done but a show of force to quell this feeling, and if that statement puts a sour taste in your mouth, a mob of Muslims that are intent on seeing your entire team lying in the desert with slit throats WITHOUT ANY provocation other than your religious faith being a motivator will. I heard this phrase with the limited Arabic I know utter once..."Death to the Infidels".....I know, sounds like it is right out of a movie right? But it is enough to raise the neck hairs and if you ever learn one Arabic phrase it should be that one. I did, and it most definitley saved my life. I hate to be a descriminatory person. I grew up in the SW US with Mexicans and learned their language, I joined the Army and learned many cultures practices, including African American and Puerto Rican cultures. Sure they seemed strange to me. I went to Korea, learned about the Budhist way of life. Seemed strange, but respectable. Not relgious problems with them. I worked with Hindu operatives out of India and never had a discrepancy with their religion. We had a good time discussing differences and similarities. However, this was never an occurance with Muslims. Maybe I had a bad experience, but I think not. Pretty much every country that borders a Muslim country that is not Muslim has a problem. Is this a coincidence? I think not. The Muslim religion is one of intolerance. I saw women beat. I saw whore houses filled with 10 year old boys. "Women are for babies, little boys are for fun." I was told this by a Muslim guide in a undisclosed country, however it seemed to be a common occurrence within the Muslim community. It is not considered cheating or a loss of virginity if the man takes another man, or boy in this case. Either way it makes me sick to my stomach. I am no longer a Christian, I have seen too many things of each religion in my travels to consider any type of organized religion. I do believe in God, a higher power, if you need to know. Call me what you will, but I have experiences that most people do not have. I don't claim to be an expert in any thing much less religions, but I have seen most major religions in practice and have watched intently. I have for a brief time been welcomed by all relgions as an "infedel". Just always seems that the welcome was always cut short in the Muslim community due to "religious" differences. Well thanks.....i reaad all of the above and ...would like to tell you...that no one should discriminate or find faults in one anothers religion.There is always a solution to a contradiction in Quran....to know Islaam beter one should first go through the Quran...if you still don't understand go to a preacher of Islaam and ask him...how or why you don't find things THE QURAN says to be true.there is no point in making these statements without a good research.All your doubts will fade away after gooing thrugh THE QURAN.. Ans about women....Islaam gives women rights more than any other religion...well if you don't belive me Please go and ask a Islaamic preacher.Do not live on roumors or what people say...you will be surprised when you reach to the core.Thats why Islaam is the fstest growing religion in the world because people have come to realize what it really is..and the douts in their minds have faded.

Feel free to share your feelings about Islam illegal, Koran blasphemous. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
