Psychics bilk and defraud

Psychics & Other Frauds

Adams, 41, of San Mateo was arrested Saturday after police say she fleeced a Half Moon Bay teen out of $15,000 -- payment to ward off the bad fortune she predicted. San Mateo Police Lt. Kevin Raffaelli said the 19-year-old met Adams in December, when Adams did a psychic reading for her. Adams got the teen's phone number, and called her asking for more money to perform incantations to protect her and her family from harm, Raffaelli said.
