What the Bleep Do We Know!?

New Age (Old Silliness) , • UFOs & Bogus Science

What The Bleep Do We Know!? is little more than a clumsy infomercial for a New Age pursuit called Ramtha's School of Enlightenment, RSE for short, which follows the teachings of an 11,000-year-old warrior as channelled by a 58-year-old New Mexico woman. The sect apparently holds quantum mechanics, metaphysics and bafflegab in equal esteem.

Quarks and quacks

The end product is a hybrid documentary that achieves the Michael Moore effect: If you buy what the filmmakers are selling, it's thought-provoking pop entertainment; otherwise, it's morally objectionable hooey and, even worse for a movie, boring.

Lots of deep questions but no answers

One man, passing himself off as a scientist, informs us that if we truly believe we can do it, we could literally walk on water. Another man claiming scientific credentials wonders why we think we can influence the future but not the past. Why can we remember the past, he asks, and not the future?

And what the bleep were these filmmakers thinking?

Watching this loopy exercise is like being stuck at a science fair, with a 5-year-old on one side asking questions and his hippie parents on the other fumbling to answer them.

possibly the worst movie i have ever seen
This movie was not only a boring peice of trash, but it really pissed me off. Not so much that these wacko ideas are out there, but that I had friends and acquaintances who reccommended it to me (knowing that I like to ask the type of questions "pursued" in the movie). I agree that there exists somewhat of a "Michael Moore phenomenon," but at least Moore was able to string together rather well researched facts into a coherent narrative. In this movie, not only are the individual "facts" not well researched, recall the crap about prayer decreasing crime in DC or thoughts that turned water into water crystals, but you couldn't even get the point of the whole damn film: "imagine being observed by the ultimate observer" (first of all, what the hell does that mean; secondly, what a load of crap). This is a bunch of new age nonsense that attempts to exploit science (which it does so very badly) in order to make money. Of course, Ramtha (or whoever the 35,000 year old warrior/god from Lemuria's name is) told JZ Knight to collect a packet of gold from all who sought insight, so, what the hell, right? If you are into pain and into killing brain cells, please go ahead and watch this movie. Or, better yet, cut your hands up with knife while doing acid--at least there will be fewer longterm consequences.
Intrestingly enough, the world takes no real thought into their lives, they continue day to day spreading an opinion which we find that usually is not their own. Hey, I bought the movie! because there is after all ONE exceptional fact about that movie and people have been rolling this marble around in their head for centuries... ???Is anything really there??? Here is my opinion ( And I believe that it is my own ) Perception is reality, but the fact of the matter is that the universe is really flat!!! I hate to tell you the facts in this manner, but your a 3 demensional cartoon to a four demensional creature. Have you ever read in the bible about when moses sees God? " The glory of the lord " it's called...Think about this, Moses was a very descriptive man, He is responsible for establishing the laws, etc. Well let's just say that God knew that he had the right man for the Job. However, amonst all that time...Moses never did document what the lord looked like... Opinions, usually expire, new thoughts and thinking are a cognitive beings responsibility. And let's not forget the fact that they admit that they are jumping on a band wagon in the movie. Truth is, that this old question isn't going to be answered by some guy who saw a movie and got so pissed off etc. Movies eh? an opinion of reality...
