Harry Potter whips Christians

Miseducation

A judge has ordered a US school district to put Harry Potter back on library shelves after rejecting arguments that it encouraged witchcraft

Judge overturns Potter 'ban'

Comments

i find nothing wrong with the Harry Potter books. Yes i am a Christian also. There maybe witchcraft in it but it isn't forcing it upon children. Children are not the only ones who read the books. Many adults do as well. If the judge banned the books from school's then they should ban most science texts books wich teach eveolution and darwin'stheroy and the big bang theroy. Also they should ban most children books because they contain witch craft in them like Cinderella and Snow White. I think adults are just worried because children hav found something they like.
Being a Christian myself, I don't think that Harry Potter is as dangerous as the fanatics think, but it is not "safe" either. The whole thing comes from Leviticus...no tattoos, no homosexuality, no witchcraft. Now, while the Levitican rules were meant for the Levites back in the old testament days to make them the example of how to conduct oneself, it doesn't mean that none of those rules should be observed now. It's simply a matter of common sense. Anything that leads you away from God, works to Satans advantage, it could be Harry Potter, or working on cars or watching movies. ANYTHING that becomes more important in your life than God is dangerous, not just Harry Potter. Yard dog.
Oh yeah, one more thing...at no time did Harry Potter ever "whip Christians" as a Christian can't be "whipped" by anything that doesn't exist! Nyah, nyah...
i think the christians that hate potter are stupid!they will belive anything you tell them!
I myself am a christian and a fan of harry potter, and I know for a fact that the books are meant for fiction and fun only. It's not forcing witchcraft on children, children have a choice not to buy it if they think it's evil. Personally I think anything that includes worshipping satan is evil, but these books always make sure that good prevails. They have actual values and morals in them. As long as no child takes these books too seriously, and think of them as more important than God, I don't see why they can't have a little fun and read them for awhile.
Hi. I am a devoted Christian and enjoy Harry Potter. I think the fictional world where someone is able to do majical things is very different from the real world. Just because in the real world people have to use things that god is against because it's not humanly possible to do magic, doesn't mean that the fiary tail world is the same. E.g we have talking animals, and other things which are impossible in fairy tails. I see the characters in Harry Potter as just having special powers without it being the same as the type of witchcraft the bible comdems. There is no evidence that Harry and his friends communicate with evil spirits in any way. Just my thoughts. Maria
