The Lord is my dietician

Miracle Cures, Health Quackery

Jesus can be adapted for so many uses. From a very long article by Alexandria Alter of the Religion News Service:

But Dr. Don Colbert, physician and nutritionist, thinks the obesity crisis could be solved if Americans would pause before inhaling a super-sized fast food meal and ask themselves a simple question: "Would Jesus eat this?"

If it's loaded with saturated fats, sugar or artificial ingredients, the answer is no, says Colbert, whose recent book "What Would Jesus Eat?" combines biblical scholarship with conventional dietary wisdom.

Colbert, a Mississippi native who studied for a year at a Bible college as well as training at medical school, said he wrote the book and its companion, "The What Would Jesus Eat Cook Book" ...

And the Bible can be bent in so many ways:

Calling the Christian vegetarian movement an "attempt to co-opt Jesus for left-wing animal rights propaganda," Moore cited Paul's letter to the Romans, which calls vegetarians weak, as proof that the Bible sanctions meat eating.

Hello, I have a question I'm over weight and trying to lose it as I write this e-mail my mother watches you all the time with John Hagee and she told me I needed to get the diet book you had out could you please tell me the name of the book. thanks alot, Beth
Yo Beth: You've stumbled across a whole different animal here than you were looking for. But don't sweat it. Before Rich gits on the prowl, I will tell you the rill: Drop the beef! The Hare Krisnas give a solid breakdown of what yr body needs. I don't care what you think about the religion - a fatty (and I use that term only 'cuz I was one, too) needs yoga & vegetarianism. It's simple as that. If you're serious about your health, you'll hook up with a yoga center twice a week & you'll start eating like a vegetarian. Good luck & Peace
