Da Vinci Code Diet

Miracle Cures, Health Quackery , • The Da Vinci Code

Your livliehood comes from baking breads. Atkins and other low carbohydrate diet manias slam your income into the ground. Why not strike back by exploiting The Da Vinci Code? American capitalism, faddishness and popular culture: this country wouldn't be at all amusing with out them.

The Diet Code: Revolutionary Weight-Loss Secrets From Da Vinci and The Golden Ratio will be coming to a bookstore near you soon.

A baker who lost half his business to the low-carb craze is cashing in on his dietary regime with a book based on the mathematical principles of the Golden Ratio, a formula used by Leonardo Da Vinci and made popular in The Da Vinci Code.

Stephen Lanzalotta created what he called the Da Vinci Diet in response to the decline in bread consumption brought on by the popularity of the Atkins Diet. The diet consists mostly of Mediterranean foods, including bread, fish, cheese, vegetables, meat, nuts and wine.

Low-carb dieters aren't going to take this without demurral:

Well, that's the problem, Mr. Lanzalotta. Eating low-carb does not mean "eating only meat." That is one of the biggest myths about this incredible lifestyle that millions of Americans enjoy. We eat a great selection of vegetables, fruits, and even whole grain breads (GASP! What a shock!). While people like Lanzalotta want to point the finger at people who do low-carb to maintain their weight, I would suggest that he start providing the kind of products in his bakery that low-carb consumers want and need for their healthy lifestyle change. There are great low-carb breads out there made with lots of fiber, which is good for you regardless of your method for maintaining your weight.

Comments

There are comments on another site that, "Not all Low Carb. diet followers failed". According to that site, "failure", was totally centered around loosing, or not loosing, weight. If one is truly interested in their health, it would seem they would be taking an holistic view of "low carbs.". It is well established that the proper balance of carbs. to other nutriants helps maintain a proper blood ph level. If that ph is too acidic then calcium is required to maintain the proper level. And of course the best source of calcium in the body is our bones. I wonder then, how healthy is a low carb. diet?
Low carb is fine for weightloss. As is most any diet that enables the person to maintain a calorie deficit. But few reputable people regard it as a proper lifetime diet. Not that I want to get into that here. Low carb zealots are as bad as the fundagelicals.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Da Vinci Code Diet. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
