No surprise that the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky, a group of African-American Baptists, came out against gay marriages. But who knew they did forbade women the vote?
The association debated at length whether to allow women to vote at the statewide meetings.
A committee recommended against it, citing biblical passages it said restrict certain church offices to men and adding that women can belong to the association's auxiliary organizations.
