Fundagelicals protest Adam & Steve

Homophobia

Historical insight offered by one of the fundagelicals protesting same-sex marriages in Albany, NY.

”Marriage was established by God,” said the Rev. Duane Motley of Spencerport, organizer of the rally. “The government does not have the right to change that definition.”

We could ask which god or whose god. Or which sort of marriage: Solomon's?

An antique witticism that fundagelical homophobes never find stale:

One of the bill’s sponsors, Assemblyman Anthony Seminerio, D-Queens, said, “I always maintain that God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”

I'm sure other states and nations would appreciate this:

The several hundred demonstrators were predominantly conservative Christians and included many other clergy members. They support a bill declaring that “a marriage or union is absolutely void if contracted by two persons of the same sex, regardless of whether such marriage or union is recognized or solemnized in another jurisdiction.”
