The Rev. Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., told the Yakima Herald-Republic that he and his group will picket the "gay-infested" Ellensburg campus to show disapproval of "The Laramie Project."

I think that God created humans with a brain so intelligent so that they could make their own decisions. We were born to sin. I believe that God will accept us. I do not believe that we meet "Rev. Fred Phelphs" on judgement day so he can decide whether he likes us or not. If he wants to act like a prick than he can take it somewhere else. So can any one else in America because this nation was made for freedom in your own beliefs. Just because Rev. Phelphs is a homophobe doesn't mean he should ruin everyone elses beliefs. Nobody harrasses him for his religious belief, why should he have the right to harrass other people for their sexual beliefs???

Fred got it wrong. It's "God hate FIGS" the mythological Jesus caused the little fig tree to wither because it did not produce figs (cause it was out of sea- son), but what did mythological jesus know anyway! I might add, that that was a pretty petty thing for the great alleged son of the mythological god to do.

Just watched The Laramie Project on British tv. Couldn't agree with Phelps more. Promoting hatred, homophobia, murder etc is filthy, and shame on those who do it. Maybe it's me, but was your compatriot watching the same production as me? Never fails to amaze me that people who call themselves Christians wouldn't know the meaning of the word if they were hit over the head with it. Proud to say I'm a Buddhist, believe in letting people get on with their lives, just as long as they do no harm to others, but then again, I can dream of my ideal world.
