Fags not allowed in Tennessee

Homophobia

Back when I was a young queer the District Attorney of Cobb County Georgia announced there weren't any homos in his county. Not any with a half-pint of sense anyway. The backwater mentality of Tennessee has proven an inexhaustible example of American vulgarity, pettiness and righteous phobias.

From the Monkey trials to this witless instance:

DAYTON, Tenn. - The county that was the site of the Scopes "Monkey Trial" over the teaching of evolution is asking lawmakers to amend state law so the county can charge homosexuals with crimes against nature.

Being gay could be a crime in Tennessee county

"We need to keep them out of here," said Commissioner J.C. Fugate, who introduced the motion. ...

There was little discussion before the 8-0 vote ...

Rhea County officials seek change in law to ban gays

Comments

Well they are going to let fags in but not all of the locals are happy with that: "12-year-old Caitlin Kinney, attending the meeting with her mother, said she supported the commissioners' initial vote. 'I think they should go further, try to see if they can ban them,' she said. 'It's not a Christian thing.' " "The spirit of Rhea county Christianity lives on among its youth"
Nothin to say here since prejudice will never end in the world of humans...though its getting too damn annoying hearing these people go on about their Bull crap...

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Fags not allowed in Tennessee. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
