Congregation of Catholic Education is still working on the long-promised formal statement on gay people and the disallowal of queer clergy.
The long-awaited document has not yet been released, but an Italian newspaper says it rules out as priests active homosexuals, those with deep-seated homosexual tendencies and those who support gay culture. ...
"This means gay clergy are expected to live lives of increased secrecy. The irony is that the bishops demanding this are closeted homosexuals. So the Catholic clergy is looking like a sick institution, held up by sanctified denial and pious hypocrisy," he said.
