Black pastors back Bush because of gay marriages

African-American pastors in Alameda County CA say that they'll vote for Bush because of his stand against gay marriage. The wicked contamination that we queer folk might spread through the land were we allowed to wed outweighs the needs of the HIV+ persons in their congregation.

Far better that more Black men and women go without counseling and treatment than homosexual couples be given legal protection for their property and be assured of being able to visit a sick partner in the hospital.

Speaking at a forum on funding, treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS, Scott angrily held up a copy of Wednesday's Oakland Tribune story on the announcement by 20 Bay Area black religious leaders that they would vote for Bush. The pastors said they are backing Bush because they believe gay marriage erodes community values and sends a poor message to children.
