Jane Fonda's says she's a Christian. I'm from Georgia and this shows the dangers of living there.

"It's not a reawakening because I was raised an atheist," she says. "It's an awakening. It came from inside me, from this growing somatic sensation of being led. Had I remained in California I probably would have continued to interpret it in a secular way. But the fact that I was in Georgia, and around people I really admired who identified themselves as Christians..."

Though not Christianity as most Georgians would define it.

"I didn't know how to reconcile Christianity and feminism at first," she says. "Then I began to seriously study biblical history and theology. Now I'm very comfortable that the two of them go together just fine. If you go back to the Gospels that weren't included in the New Testament, and some of the early Christian writings ...

Yeah, this really doesn't seem anything like the kind of crazy religion that is practiced here in the South. Something tells me her feminism wouldn't go over to well here. Of course, the fact that she actually reads books probably wouldn't go over well either!
