Crucifix appears in Potato

Faith is Profitable

Another bit of miracle food auctioned off on eBay.

It was 7:30 PM, December 4th, 2005. The second Sunday of advent, in Joshua Tree, California. Personal Chef Karin Winkler started to prepare dinner. While thinking about upcoming Christmas, she was peeling and cutting a potato. Everything appeared to be normal. When she was peeling and cutting the second potato in half, a miracle happened: the symbol of a perfectly shaped holy cross appeared on both halves of the potato.

"I am cooking potatoes for 35 years now, but I have never seen something like this in my whole life!" Winkler said. She feels very blessed that this has happened to her and she truly believes that this is a special sign for the world to pursue peace. She sees the potato as a symbol of the world and the cutting of it's hidden cross in two perfectly shaped halves as a sign of God to love each other, be happy and unite!

The word advent means "coming" or "arrival". It is marked by a spirit of expectation, of anticipation, of preparation, of longing. Many people take the appearances of crosses as a sign of divine promise, believing they signify the return of Christ.

Winkler, who wants to keep her spiritual beliefs private, says she gave the potato as an important gift to her son Roman who is awaiting the birth of his first son at the beginning of the new year. Roman asked his mother to auction off the holy potato for him and his son on eBay, starting the auction on the third Sunday of advent, December 11, 2005, at 7:30 PM. The auction will end on the fourth Sunday of advent, just a week before Christmas day. Winkler says: "We want that the right person can own this piece of a true miracle this holiday season and be very happy this Christmas."

The holy potato is in it's original peeled and cut condition, unaltered, air dried and not intended for consumption.

Comments

What a bunch of crap. I've found many of those "crosses" throughout my potato-peeling years. Should have saved them and sold them on eBay first, I guess.
Mmmmmmmm...fraudulent potato...
Hawking bogus miracle crap on eBay has become a not uncommon way for people to pick up a little extra cash.
Just cut a cross into a potato and say that you were inspired to do it. Send me 25% of your profits for the idea. Or don't you !@!@#$. Ian Taylor
