Not Da Vinci's but Satan's code

Unsurprisingly the fundagelicals see deceit and and Satan's hand behind Dan Brown's silly The Da Vinci Code.

"Because this book is such a direct attack against the foundation of the Christian faith, it's important that we speak out," said the Rev. Erwin W. Lutzer, author of The Da Vinci Deception and senior pastor of Moody Church in Chicago, an influential evangelical pulpit.

The Rev. James L. Garlow, co-author with Prof. Peter Jones of Cracking Da Vinci's Code and pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego, said: "I don't think it's just an innocent novel with a fascinating plot. I think it's out there to win people over to an incorrect and historically inaccurate view, and it's succeeding. People are buying into the notion that Jesus is not divine, he is not the son of God."

I don't understand what's so historically inaccurate about a different view on someone who has never been proven to even exist. (And please, don't mention that book written by the "Athiest who was converted when he wrote it", because I'm calling bullshit on that whole story.)

The Da Vinci Code throws out "fact" after "fact" without any proof. Readers who accept these yarns as history aren't paying attention. Just two examples: the Priory of Sion was founded 48 years ago, not 1000. Constantine was not a lifelong pagan who was baptized against his will; he converted to Christianity at the same time he became emperor of Rome, and made Christianity an official religion of the empire. These can be validated, unlike any of the fabrications and disinformation that pervade The Da Vinci Code. About the only things in TDVC that are true are that there IS a museum in Paris called The Louvre, there IS an organization called Opus Dei (though it doesn't resemble in any way that of the novel), and PHI is called "the divine constant". Other than that, it's pure fiction. Dan Brown, though he claims that he believes these things are true, could never offer any proof of his assertions, because no such proof exists.

People are still hungry for the nonsense. I put up a copy for sale on Amazon, not the cheapest copy, and it went within 45 minutes.

I just finished reading TDVC. I thought it was an entertaining book. However, once I finished it I could'nt sleep and started having nightmares. I think all the assertions in the book are acceptable except the 'fact' the Jesus was not divine. Even making such an assertion in a fictional book is not correct. Even in the book they talk about people's faith being shaken if the "truth" about the Holy Grail got out. Then why is the author unecessarily courting controversy by questioning the basis of Christianity- I do think it is Satanic

i really find TDVC very interesting, I mean, few writers could actually make a reader stay glued on their work til 3 o'clock in the morning. Kudos to Brown, he had knack on making people imagine things that are unthinkable. But I do respect his views. This is a free world. It's not Brown's fault if people turn into atheists after they read the code. I actually didn't sleep well after reading the whole thing. And that what made me say that Brown is such a great writer--- good work man. But I'm still sticking to my Christian beliefs...:p

I think that TDVC is just one small example of a general trend in the world where people are starting to question the infallibility of the institutions of the major religions, not really the religions themselves. Most people are dissatisfied with the corporate body that canonizes dogma that is meant to dictate a congregation's relationship with God. I left the Baptist Church in my teens to study and become a tradional African priest. I still love The Christ and believe He is way more than just a prophet, but no institution that profits from slavery and war should dictate to anyone how to relate to God.

book i think is just one of Satan's way of making the crowd believe that Jesus is not "Jesus" as we exalt Him. But unfortunately, He is and no book can ever debunk that.

The Da Vinci Code has been hugely successful, earning its author, Dan Brown, a lot of money. if you will examine this It is my personal opinion he is doing this for fame and money no wonder why many people are so interested is because its a malicious poet (people like malicious story)I don’t care if he is atheist or satanic but all I know is many people are interested to read the poet books rather than the Bible ouchhh... those people who are reading their Bible well I'm sure your secure on your Faith and how about those people who are not reading their Bible well that’s the problem. To Mr. Dan Brown I suggest you read the Bible cover to cover because I'm sure your one of those people not reading their Bible ouchhh... that’s why you don’t have fear in the Lord you have a talent in writing I suggest you use that for the Lord it is time to repent the Lord is waiting you his arms are open He Loves you. Now enjoy the fame and the money "The time will come you will face the creator of heaven and earth." PS: Those people who read "The Da Vinci Code" I hope that you read the Bible so that you’re Question? About the malicious poet "The Da Vinci Code" will be answered tru the Bible not another malicious poet by Mr. Dan Brown THE BIBLE IS THE ANSWER.

the book is so malicious that i could only think this is one of those ploys satan is instituting to mislead and confuse the people with their christian faith... its a good book, though...a fictional book, that is!

Look, it's a book. It was written solely to entertain and start silly discussion forums. It was not the work of satan. It was the work of a talented artist. I don't hear any of you screaming at Stephen King for writing, or urinating on H.P. Lovecraft's grave. He wrote a good fictional book with some suggestive truth. Leave the guy alone. He did his job, he entertained you for a few hours. Now calm down and take a nap.

I havent read the da vinci code yet, but a lot of my friends told me that its great! if your faith is not that strong, it will somewhat be shattered!! i dont want to have a second thought of what i believe in, but i'll be ready to face that coz i do have a strong faith in Him!!

Da vinci code is satan's plan to twist the mind of the non-believer and the christian comunity in making belive that christ comit adultery and he is not perfect either. Remember this..Jesus once said that no slave is greater than the master. IF the world hate jesus, then of course the christian are not spared either. This world is owned by the devil and the devil will make sure that no one will be spared from it's grasp. This Da vinci code is only a tool to spread lies and blaspemy stories. One might say this book is only a fiction based book and only for entertainment ..but remember this.... If a non-believer(non-christian) read this book, he/she will asume that christianity is just another junk religion and the bible will be just considered as another man made story book......just for entertainment.

There is nothing wrong with this book. You know there is a problem with organized religions when they fear that a simple novel will ruin their religion. If people are led to believe by reading a book, then their beliefs weren't that strong anyway. Also,when you consider that the Bible has been changed so many times, what is the point in being Christian? Most of you probably aren't aware that at one time, there was a story in the Bible about Jesus taking the life of a young kid when he was first learning how to use his power. He brought the kid back to life. The story was taken out during the Spanish Inquisition. The Bible has not been proven to be factual. Infact, Satan is looked upon by Christians as being evil, yet he is referred to as an angel by Jews, and they use the original version of the Bible. How does that work?

How can this book be "Satanic?" Are the Jews Satanic because they aren't Christian? What about the Muslims? What about Hindus? Just because someone writes something that goes against a certain religion does not mean it is satanic. It simply means that it is based on different merets. The simple fact is that much of the Bible references can not be validated. Historians can't agree on the Bible's accuracy, some saying it is, others showing proof it isn't, while still others agree that it doesn't seem to be, but it could be that we are simply misinterpreting the Bible. Are they Satanic too? If so, Go Satan!

I have read the Davinci code and understand the idea that it was trying to introduce, I found that Dan Berstein did a much more acurate job of introducing the facts than Dan Brown's novel. There is however the matter of the mathematic constants such as Pi and Phi and a intresting thing is that these things are found encrypted into old Pagan symbols, which is after all what the Davinci code is all about...symbolism. I don't wanna stray too far off topic, but nobody has acknowledged the presence of the Davinci code in U.F.O phenomenon and the repeated crop circles or the patterns that these lights are appearing in. I cracked the Davinci code last year, right now it doesn't serve my intrests to draw attention to it. It's written on the pyramids, painted on rocks that have been dated way over a mere 2000 years. Geometrics, the universal language... containing numbers, colors, shapes. The only truly evolved language. The " Code " isn't about what people think it is and I often imagine Davinci sitting staring into peices of paper convinced he was actually looking at three demensional objects. There was another unique being that had this ability and that was Dr. suess ( whoever that was ) This is how I look at crop circles but at multiple angles envisioning similar formations and seeing if it is the same object but at a different angled veiw of the silohette formation. ( Indians looked at things this way when the Europeans first came to this contenient, I think that these little green men have been here before, and much like how the Europeans were greeted, so were these friendly four fingered beings that make a guest appearance in the book of Ezekiel " The four living creatures " Anyways, here is somthing for the christians, in the story " From Adam to Noah " during the seventh generation something amazing happened. Never in the history of the bible is there anyone so righteous as Enoch, everyone else " walks in the path of the lord " Enoch gets the privalage to walk with the lord, not bad for offspring of Cain. But in this story, intuitive eyes would see that eveyone in this particular chapter has been written to have died. Enoch was taken, and was no more. All this transpired before the great flood, in other words " before the hearts of men became wicked." I'm guessing that God found the Christ while the spirit of God was still fresh in the first being's.( we are all Gods children ) So what am I trying to imply? I don't take what the bible says at face value, it is written in prose for a reason, because the author knew that someone would mess with it. Doesn't matter anyway nobody really believes in god anymore and god has become a reason to go to war only, like don't you think that God would oppose hunger more and would naturally choose that as God's war? You would think too that God would have put up more of a fight before getting kicked out of school, it must have been the work of that pesky satan. So, what I am trying to say is that basically the christians turned a prophet into a God, and a God into Profit, and the Davinci code is all about this. On the surface it appears that it is all about the sacred Female, but actually Davinci was onto a more intricate pattern in the bible. So lastly, St.Augustine ( From which the month of August derives ) wrote..." No error is more dangerous than any regarding the trinity." I don't refute that the number is three, and I don't doubt that Jesus walked the earth and in a few more centuries he would have learnt to properly count to ten 3 . 1 4 1 5 9 2 6 5 3 5

The Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction and should be regarded as nothing more. If facts that it presents challenges anyone's faith then I doubt their faith is very formidable to begin with. There are facts seperate from the novel that are also very disrupting to the Christian faith or any other religion for that matter. I believe nohting. I only focus on what I know and what can be proved, and stay away from debates where there is no right or wrong answer. Seeing that people are getting upset because a story book says something different then the foundation of their lifestyle and core beliefs shows how fragile the Christian faith is. If you can't deal with the fact versus faith then you don't have faith. It is a story book guys.

The "Da Vinci Code" is a potent example of Satan at his best. But, on the other hand this is a great opportunity for those in doubt to 'seek the truth.' I am confident that once you 'seek' ye shall 'find.' God gives us many opportunities to find him. Take the challenge and "seek the truth" for yourself. May you find his grace, Cooper
