North Carolina's godly license plates

Don't think I know anybody who'll be coughing up the extra cash for these godly car ornaments.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Sponsors of a bill to create a special "In God We Trust" license plate said Monday the tag could raise $1 million annually for families of deployed members of the North Carolina National Guard.

The measure, which has the support of legislative leaders, would create a plate similar to other special car tags that motorists could purchase for an additional $30 fee, bringing the total to $50 annually. ...

Wilson said she got the idea from a similar "In God We Trust" plate in South Carolina. South Carolina has issued more than 100,000 of them, she said.
