Jesus is my homeboy

Christian Pop Culture

Even before “The Passion” hit screens, pop culture had reinvented the image of Jesus. Tabloid fashionistas such as Pamela Anderson, Ashton Kutcher, Ben Affleck and Lara Flynn Boyle have all been seen sporting the popular “Jesus is my homeboy” T-shirts.

Los Angeles-based clothing company Teenage Millionaire introduced the design three years ago. “We were looking at pop icons of the 21st century, and Jesus topped the list,” says Chris Hoy, a partner in Teenage Millionaire. “(The shirts) appeal to the religious people and the hipsters alike.”

What a trend we have in Jesus

Comments

Jesus is NOT my homeboy. Jesus is my savior; Saying Jesus is my homeboy is putting him at the same level as us, thus making him an equal. Jesus is not an equal to us and saying that he is, is a disgrace to every thing he stands for.
I truly understand were you are coming from but the scriptures do say, 1.) "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2 2.) "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21 3.) "Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous." 1 John 3:7 So He is not and will never be our equal, but we will be like Jesus, and higher than the angels. Jesus is my only God and Saviour, and my Homeboy. I am searching for a picture of it on the internet so I can print it out on an iron-on for my New Years Eve dance video which will be posted on my website in the LickWid section.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Jesus is my homeboy. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
