Jesus at the Speed of Light

Christian Pop Culture

Goofy new versions of the Christian scriptures seem to be increasingly popular productions. Now we have the Light Speed Bible.

Key verses of the new edition have been underlined and the usual subheads have been inserted twice. Proctor’s plan is for readers to first scan a text at just five seconds a page. Then they go back and read mostly subheads and underlined words. Then they return for a third go-over. He calls the steps Light Speed, Landmark Speed and Learning Speed. Using this method, he aims for readers to reach 800 to 900 words per minute. An optional fourth step is a meditative speed, Proctor said.

Thinking about what you've read is a very special step, isn't it?

A new version of the Bible promises busy people to speed read the whole book just 24 hours.

Comments

Perhaps this is a way for lazy people to claim they have read the entire Bible when in fact they have not. As a lover of God's Word, I quote from Psalm 1, Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. As believers we should love, cherish, disect, study, etc. the Word to understand as best we can, not rush through it.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Jesus at the Speed of Light. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
