Yelling preacher fined $100

Christian Fundamentalism

"I refuse to pay," Anderson said after his trial. "I'm not going to pay a dime to a city that arrests a preacher for preaching the Gospel. I'll sit in jail. I'll rot."

He'd been found guilty of yelling too loudly - "you're damned to hell" - at people in a Clinton Iowa Halloween parade.

Preacher Found Guilty of Preaching Loud

Comments

Last I checked, the Gospel was Matt, Mark, Luke, and Jack. I don't remember the gospel saying anything against Mardi Gras (It didn't exist yet, and it's rooted in Catholicism, anyway) or that 'thou shalt not parade, lest thou shalt go to hell.' They weren't arresting him for 'preaching the gospel'. They were arresting him for being an arse and disrupting a parade.
I'm a Christian and I have to agree--the dude was way out of his league.
