Jesus invented feminism?

Christian Fundamentalism

Anne Coulter says Jesus invented gender equality. David Korn replies:

And Jesus invented feminism? Then why did the "Christian nation" of the United States deny women the right to vote? Why has the Catholic Church refused to ordain female priests? Why do certain fundamentalist Christians insist that women submit to their husbands?

I think it is obvious that many, if not all of the ideals and teachings Jesus handed to his followers were not followed perfectly or effectively... so though Jesus certainly was radically for gender, religious, and social equality, his followers throughout history have chosen to reinterpret or flat out ignore his stance on this issue.
I have heard this argument time and time again by feminist theologians, but where is the evidence? The Gospels are full of teachings that support the subservience of women, and although I do believe that Jesus himself sought equality and denounced the apparent oppression he saw all around him, what evidence is there that he actually did? Please enlighten us all! Ebony.
Why did the " Christian" nation deny women equality? Because not only have some males made women subordinate, they have been territorial over other males. Read the history of all wars and violence of some males. People just have to stand up for themselves and not let themselves endure oppression. Wisdom to remember the past and courage to change the future.
