It certainly doesn't bring glory to Christ, that's pretty obvious
• Christian Fundamentalism
"There was a concerted effort in the 19th century by scholars interested in paganism to connect Halloween with ancient Celtic traditions, but most Halloween traditions are Christian. In fact, efforts to connect it with paganism may have been a form of stealth Catholic bashing," Broedel said.

Hundreds of other evangelical denominations have gone further by purchasing Judgment House kits, where abortion and homosexuality are described as a straight route to hell. One of the companies that offers the kits -- New Creation Evangelism, a Clearwater, Fla., not-for-profit business -- has trained 220 churches in 27 states on how to host a Judgment House.
Some churches rebel against the dark side of Halloween
A mother and daughter die in a car accident. They now stand together facing the final judgment.
The mother is pulled kicking and screaming to the fires of hell.
Some in the audience gasp at this drama. A few smile at the spectacle. Most just stare.
It's four days before Oct. 31, but this is no Halloween haunted house.
"Tell them I've been a good mom!'' the woman yells to her daughter. "Tell them I've taken you to church every Sunday!'' Too late.
Her daughter, a Christian, is now alone. "Mom, why didn't you accept Jesus?'' she says, the screams of the older woman still audible.
Halloween alternative delivers fire, brimstone
Alan Nelson, church member, said the House of Judgment is a 12-scene play that takes place after the Apocalypse and is based on the second novel of the Left Behind book series, which is an interpretation of the book of Revelation reset in a modern background.
The goal of the House of Judgment is to have a spiritual impact on all who visit, he said.
"So far we've had 44 salvations and over 100 rededications [to Jesus] since we've started the show last Wednesday night, primarily with the youth that have been coming to the event," Nelson said.
The House of Judgment follows the lives of two sisters whose parents were raptured.
One sister decides to accept Jesus into her life, while the other rejects Christian teachings
