God's Politics

Christian Fundamentalism , • Wearisome Bedfellows

It's Wallis's critique of the secular left as well as the religious right that makes this such an important book. After toiling as an anti-poverty crusader and magazine editor for many years, Wallis hit his stride in the 2004 campaign by challenging the religious conservative monopoly on political God-talk. Now there is a debate over the nature and role of the religious left, and "God's Politics" is a seminal contribution to the timely discussion.

A review of Jim Wallis' God's Politics: Righteous Anger

Comments

Richard, While I don't agree with everything that Jim Wallis says, I think he does a good job showing that there is certainly diversity among evangelicals. I have posted an analysis of the Religious Right from an insiders perspective. http://lawnrangers.blogspot.com/2005/02/inside-religious-right.html Peace.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about God's Politics. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
