NASCAR is about racing cars. It's not church. I say feel free to pray if you want to, don't make a spectacle out of it. There are Jews, Muslims, HIndu's & atheists who love car racing. Why should they have to sit through someone else's religeous ceremonies. How would a christian like it if they had to endure bowing to Mecca prior to watching the Daytona 500?

What kind of nut would say that Jesus loves Nascar? Joseph, did someone who looks like Jesus tell you that or did you hear a voice that proclaimed that? Joseph, Jesus doesn't like people who call other people assholes. Go cleanse yourself Joseph and sin no more.

Friends: I am a Christian who happens to love NASCAR. I have family who builds some of the cars and I have a cousin in the Bush Series but, I do not support prayer in schools, public events, or any other function. Prayer is from WITHIN and if someone wants to pray for the saftey of the drivers, crews, and audience then let them do so in private (WITHIN). This country is about freedom and that includes freedom of religion. I respect that there are many different religions who go to and watch NASCAR on t.v. and we should respect everyone's beliefs. Not everyone believes in the same God as I or we Christians do.

...oh and further more....Im a gay Christian who loves NASCAR. I am not associated with the Christian sec who teaches HATE, STRIFE, AND BIGOTRY. :)

A recommendation to NASCAR: Have a Rabbi do the invocation every once in a while. It will make NASCAR seem more inclusive, plus a lot of Jews love NASCAR.

I understand the comment someone made about people of other religions being at a race, but.....if I were in Iraq at a race I would expect them to have some kind of Muslim prayer-- it is a Muslim country, if at an event in Japan I would expect someone to rub buddahs tummy....in America I expect a prayer to God through Jesus Christ his risen son...because this is a Christian country. God Bless the USA!!!!

I don't know what to say about "Jesus loves NASCAR". With all the disease, misery and hate on the planet, it's hard for me to visualize 1/3 of the "trinity" sittin ona cloud a watchin a buncha good ole boys making hundreds of left turns for fo or five hours.
