I can think of no reason why she shouldn't.
I hope this is not construed as hateful, I don't really intend it that way... But i don't realy understand how an entire religion can be practiced when it was originally practiced before the dark ages, mostly without a writen language. Druid, OK, Celtic.. maybe... Norsk, perhaps... but Wiccan?
Silly, silly... There is no justifiable reason for her to be excluded from speaking opportunities. Unfortunately, I'm having problems pulling up the link to the full article right now. Anyway, just based on the summation above, it seems that as long as she is a member of the community, pays taxes, and is an ordained representative of her religion (per Virginia law), then there would be no way of preventing her from speaking. After all, Wicca at least is a recognized religion according to US tax laws. I would recommend she write a letter to each of the newspapers in the area. "Letters to the editor..." types. With some luck (and maybe a ritual), she'd be published in at least one publication. Bring up little thing like the law, freedom of speech, religious tolerance, etc. Then again, she could try this: Go on a fact-finding mission on all of the speakers that have presented to date. Shady business dealings, etc. Compromising photos would be a great addition. Then, put all the in little packets (like party favors) and have them distributed before the beginning of the next community meeting. Perhaps then, the reigning members would be more open to the "morality" of speakers in the future.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about "Based upon our review of Wicca, it is neo-pagan and invokes polytheistic deities". Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
