Enforced chastity is still mandatory for Roman Catholic clergy.

The bishops described celibacy as an "inestimable gift" and declared that ordination of married men was "a path not to follow"

Communion for divorcees who remarry also fails

I wish that Fundagelical clergy faced similarly insane restrictions. Anything to get rid of them.

"There has been a massive restatement of the importance of the tradition in the Latin church of mandatory celibacy," Cardinal George Pell, Archbishop of Sydney, said at a news conference in Rome on Saturday.

Married priests not the answer: bishops

They want the Eucharist? Let them eat cake.

Some liberal Catholics and church reform groups say more men would join the priesthood if they were allowed to marry, and several bishops at the synod raised the issue of whether so-called "viri probati" or married men of proven virtue could be ordained.

The mention about divorcees is particuarlly stupid. Even if one would submit to celibacy, its still a choice. many, many people-millions actually suffer the trauma of a divorce. The church then says oh, your next marriage no matter how positive is not the same as your first marriage no matter how negative UNLESS you allow us to pretend you were never actually married the first time. So the church in essence is not pro good marriage but rather pro first marriage. No matter the cost to the people involved. They are repugnant. They take one intepretation(the one most devoid of reality) and oppress their flock.

Read Matthew 19:1-12 Mark 10:1-12 If we are going claim that our first Marriage was not a Holy union we should at least give the Church an Opportunity to check out our reasoning from a scripture based point of view. This requires Cannon lawyers. I used the excuse that I should not have to pay for the Church to tell me something I already know. Then I was living excommunicated from the Church and my Lord. One day I asked myself "if the Lord were to approach me and ask why I have not been attending worship, what would I say??" maybe that $300.00 was too high a price to pay in order to be in good standing with His Church?!? Seems kinda petty when you talk it out. I don't think he would be pleased with my answer either.
