Money fell from the sky

Christian huckster bilked elderly and disabled fellow church members.
[Johnny "Mickey"] Brown claims humble roots in the testimonial CD, which he circulated at Living Water Christian Assembly, an Albany Pentecostal church he joined in 1997.
Brown says on the CD that he was raised by a churchgoing family in Independence, La., but strayed into a life of lust and drugs while playing professional basketball. He tells of his financial success after joining Living Water.
"Some of you got financial problems," Mickey Brown said. "I had them. But when I came up here and knelt on the altar, money just started falling literally out of the sky. It just came from everywhere."
Larry and Vivian Vogel, pastors at Living Water, said they asked the Browns to leave the church in July for failing to "practice proper Christian financial ethics."
