Begging bishop

Antique jewellery, oil paintings and Victorian sideboards were on the Bishop's begging letter. Church of England prelates have been told to cut down on their lavish spending and I guess he was feeling the pinch. The recipient wasn't a regular churchgoer and probably won't be showing up more often.

A bishop has apologised for an over-enthusiastic piece of fundraising which saw a 99-year-old hospital patient visited by a chaplain and then sent a suggestion that she remember the local cathedral in her will.
