Another child-abusing preacher goes to prison

For two years Rev. Donald Lee Flanery had sex with a young teenage girl. The pastor told her that God was in favor of it. Fancying himself Solomon I guess he convinced her that his desires were "biblical." From what I remember of the Old Testament I guess Holy Writ may be on his side. But not the American courts. He'll be spending thrity-five years in a place where if he were a bit younger he could be someone else's wife.

At the time of the incidents, Flanery was the pastor of a non-denominational church known as The Family of Christ. Documents filed in the case said the assaults occurred at the church, his residence behind the church and at a new home he was building.

My husband,Donald Flanery and i counceled with the girl. She told us in July 2001 that a 27 year old guy in our church was molesting her. we told her parents and then my husband called the authorities. they questioned the 27 year old guy and gave him a lie detector test which he failed. Then he ran off to California and later came back. they drug this out in court for about 2 years. Her mother wanted my husband. she wanted him to leave me for her. In December 2002 the mom called our house wanting to talk to my husband. He told me to tell her that he didn't want to talk to her. she kept calling and calling. The last time she called was about 10:30 that night. My husband walked in and over heard me telling her that I wan't lying that he said he didn't want to talk to her that I didn't care for her talking to him. He walked into the other room and picked up the other phone and told her that he didn't want to talk to her for her to leave him alone. Before she hung up from talking to me she said that I would be sorry. In March, 2003 they came and arrested my husband and said that the girl had changed her story and said that my husband was the one that had molested her. The guy she had accused first was her witness in court along with his wife and his mother. the prosecuting attorney had been his lawyer. They said they had 2 pair of her panties with my husband's DNA on them and that they had found porn on his computer but when the results came back from Little Rock they didn't have either one. In court she said they had sex about 35 times. when asked if she could identify anything about his private parts she said he had been circumcized. But he has never been circumcized. A nurse checked him and testified in court that he had never been circumcized and the next day the Pocahontas hospital fired her. I thought a person was innocent until proven guilty. there is no justice in our justice system. He is not guilty. He was framed for something someone else did. They offered him 2 plea bargains but he said he was not going to plea guilty because he was not guilty. He is innocent.
